Now that’s a sexy label. And intriguing, because can something so fine on the outside possibly measure up on the inside? Heck. Yeah. Painted Rock Winery in Penticton, BC released its first vintage this year, and proprietor John Skinner wasn’t joking around when he talked about setting the bar high. These wines are big. The winery received two 2010 Lieutenant Governor Awards for Excellence in British Columbia Wine for their 2007 Red Icon and 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon. The awards were recently presented by Lieutenant Governor Stephen Point at an event at Painted Rock. Kudos to an excellent vineyard crew and winemaker Gavin Miller for creating wines just as sexy as their label.
