Appropriately named The Bench, this market and cafe is located on Penticton’s Vancouver Hill, the gateway to Naramata Bench wine region. Along with it’s location, the menu and assorted market items attract a broad range of customers, from cyclists fueling up on their way out of town to local artists whose work adorns the walls. It’s a hub for multiple interest groups, and people like myself who just can’t get enough of the fresh, local, healthy and incredibly tasty eats. I must admit I have limited my visits to The Bench recently, because I was starting to get concerned about my addiction to their homemade granola bars. I didn’t photograph these granola bars because I couldn’t handle any further temptation. Try them, you’ll understand. And if you like eggs benny, theirs will probably keep you coming back for more. Just yum. Oh, and this photo shoot was prompted by Okanagan Life Magazine because The Bench was recognized in their 2010 Editor’s Choice issue. Congratulations. Now, I’m off to the Bench for a cafe mocha… and probably a granola bar.
